DraftKings Week 1 Showdown: Cheap Options

Rashard Higgins – $2800

I want the third receiver in this Browns passing game and at this very moment we are not sure if it will be Rashard Higgins or Damion Ratley. Last week Higgins sat making Ratley a viable option, if he cannot go again tonight then fire up Ratley, if he is active I will want Higgins in some of my lineups.

Gerald Everett – $2400

Easily the best cheap option on an injury filled slate. Everett looks to take advantage of Tyler Higbee absence in this matchup against the Browns.

Damion Ratley – $2,000

If Higgins is out as I mentioned above, Ratley is someone I will have shares of in my flex as the third receiver in this offense is likely to see an increased workload trailing this game. Make sure to check the injury report 90 minutes from kick to see who is active or inactive tonight.

Demetrius Harris – $1,800

The only option to throw to at tight end this week is Demetrius Harris after Njoku broke his wrist last week. He is simply too cheap at $1,800 and allows you to spend up and roster some of the premiere players on the slate.

Dontrell Hilliard – $1,800

After sitting last week out, Hilliard will spell Chubb and become viable at only $1,800. He could see more work than normal if they’re in fact trailing in the second half as Chubb is not their pass catching specialist.

DraftKings Week 1 Showdown: Special Teams / Defensive Flex Options

Rams – $4,600

The Browns weakness on offense starts upfront with its offensive line. I would expect Aaron Darnold to have his way against this Browns interior, making them a viable flex play.

When looking for defenses on DraftKings you want a defense that can generate pressure, while also seeing a lot of volume in the passing game giving your defense more chances for sacks and turnovers. With a quarterback that is susceptible to forcing the ball into coverage and a game script forcing the Browns to be one-dimensional, I want this defense in Showdown.

Browns – $4,800

Much like the Browns, the Rams offensive line has been a major weakness so far this season. When Goff does face pressure, his QBR drops 72.5 points which puts him 25th in the league. This Browns defense can get after the quarterback and force Goff into some mistakes making them also viable tomorrow night.

Greg Zuerlein – $3,400

My favorite special teams play this week will be Greg “the leg” Zuerlein in what should be more of a defensive matchup than most think. I will have a lot of Zuerlein, as I think the Rams will be able to move the ball on this banged up Browns defense giving Greg an ample amount of opportunities.

DraftKings Week 1 Showdown: Game Script Thoughts

The line opened the Rams as a 2.5 point road favorite and a total of 51. The line is now out to 3.5 and the total has been driven down to 47.5.

Both of these line movements agree with my game script. I believe the Rams will be able to come out and take advantage of this banged up Browns team, jumping out to an early lead and forcing the Browns to become one-dimensional. I like the Rams and the under here, as I believe the injuries are too much to overcome.
