DraftKings PGA: 2019 Safeway Open Picks

$11,700 Patrick Cantlay

Cantlay played this event for the first time last year and finished T17. I love the way he concluded his 2018-19 season, finishing 2nd in the FedEx Cup. Cantlay is one of the best golfers in this field and he will look to get out to a fast start and cement his name as one of the top golfers on the Tour.

He is also from California, which just solidifies it for me.  I will be massively overweight to the field on Cantlay.

$9,200 Chez Reavie

Chez will be heavily owned this week. He is a great ball-striker, his driver is straight, and he is a Poa / West Coast guy. His course history here is impressive, recording 5 straight made cuts at this new course with 3 top-25’s. Reavie was playing solid golf near the end of the 2019 season, and he will look to continue that success in his first tournament of the 2019-20 season.

$7,900 Harris English

English may be popular due to his stellar play at the Greenbrier (T3) and the Sanderson Farms (T6). Yes, he has 2 top-10 finishes in 2 events this season. Even with the PGA moving from Bermudagrass to Poa, I cannot see myself fading English.

He is from the South (Georgia), but his Poa game is solid. Over the past 2 weeks English ranks 17th in approach, 15th T2G, and 2nd in DK scoring. English finished T66 here last year and is 2 and 2 on made cuts since the course change.
