NFL DFS: Tennessee Titans @ Atlanta Falcons

Tennessee Titans

This offense once again looked anemic in week 3 and the passing attack is one to completely avoid. The only player that I have any interest in on this side of the ball is Derrick Henry. He’s seen at least 17 touches every game thus far and has led the backfield in targets in 2 of the 3 weeks, spelling the murmurs that Dion Lewis would be a threat in 3rd down situations. While his 4.1 yards per carry leave a bit to be desired, he’s literally the only reliable source of production on this offense.

At this time last season, the industry was up in arms surrounding the lack of touchdowns for Julio Jones. Fast forward to this season and he’s tied for the league lead in receiving scores (4) and has recorded 12 touchdowns over his last 12 games. He should line up with Adoree’ Jackson, who’s posted his lowest PFF grade (64.1) in the last three seasons.

Matt Ryan has continued to air it out, throwing over 300 yards each of his first three games with 8 total touchdowns. The Titans are ranked 5th in pass DVOA on the season and with Ryan’s tendency to turn the ball over this season, I’d reserve him for GPPs, as his pairing with Julio Jones is a slate-winner week in and week out. Calvin Ridley has continued his torrid touchdown pace to start the season (2 in 3 games), but disappeared last week with only 1 target. Much like Ryan, he lacks the consistency that Jones has, making him a GPP only play. One other receiver that I find rather reliable is Austin Hooper. He caught a pair of touchdowns last game and ranks 6th in the league in targets amongst TEs (22). He’s a fine mid-tier play with a relatively safe floor.

We finally saw a bit of life from Devonta Freeman, as commanded 19 touches in week 3, turning them into 95 yards. More importantly, he saw 94% of the RB carries and 100% of the RB catches. In a game where the Falcons should control the pace and command a lead, we could finally see him turn that work-horse role into a breakout game.
