1. Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles entered the year as a potential Super Bowl contender, and like the Browns before them things have not gone according to plan. Week 1 was a near disaster for the Eagles, who fell way behind the Washington Redskins before rallying to win, but that game was an omen for what was to come in the following weeks.

Philadelphia slept walked through the first half of its game against the Atlanta Falcons but had a chance to win anyway, only to see victory slip through their fingers when Julio Jones took a short pass 54 yards to the house. The Eagles got really banged up in that game, putting rookies like Miles Sanders in the spotlight for Week 3 against the Detroit Lions.

Sanders committed two key fumbles in that game, which the Lions rallied to win and send the Eagles to 1-2. With the Dallas Cowboys off to a 3-0 start in the NFC East, the Eagles need to win, making this week’s matchup with the undefeated Packers of vital importance.

The bad news for the Eagles is that this game is on Thursday, so they have little time to prepare for it. The quick turnaround could also leave the Eagles without Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson, both of whom sat out on Sunday against the Lions due to injuries suffered in the Atlanta game, and leave Carson Wentz without a few key weapons against a tough Packers’ defense.

The Eagles did win the Super Bowl two years ago, but fans in Philadelphia have a very short term memory, especially since Wentz himself didn’t win that game. Falling to 1-3 could start a crisis in Philadelphia, and the potential of falling three games behind Dallas in the division should frighten Eagles’ fans.
