2. Newcastle win at Leicester

The only match on Sunday sees Newcastle travel to Leicester in a game that should be fairly one-sided. Leicester are currently alongside Arsenal and West Ham as the “best of the rest” after Liverpool and Manchester City.

Brendan Rodgers’ side have looked great this season but it still doesn’t feel like they carry enough fear solely with their presence. However, that seems to be more a matter of respect from other teams than Leicester’s lack of quality.

Tottenham found that out last week when they were outplayed by Leicester at the King Power. Spurs may have been two goals up if it weren’t for VAR but the Foxes were most definitely the better side over the course of that 90 minutes.

All of that points to a comfortable victory over Newcastle this weekend but this should be a more difficult matchup for Rodgers’ side. Against Tottenham, Leicester were allowed to play their soccer but Newcastle will set up to frustrate their opponents and play for any opportunity on the break.

That will make life difficult for the Foxes who also like to utilize the quick break with the passing of James Maddison and the pace of Jamie Vardy. Maddison is a doubt for this weekend after sustaining an ankle injury against Spurs. If he doesn’t make it then this will give Newcastle even more of an opportunity to get something from this game.

Steve Bruce will set up his side like he did against Tottenham when they came away from London with a shcok 1-0 win. Bruce may not be expecting his side to get three points this weekend but any points should be considered a good result by Newcastle fans.

Leicester will plug away at the Newcastle defense over the course of the 90 minutes but they will miss a clinical forward to put the big chances away. Newcastle will defend rigidly and grab a winner courtesy of Andy Carroll.
