5 bold Premier League predictions: Arsenal win at Old Trafford
1. Aubameyang scores again as Arsenal win at Old Trafford
The Premier League weekend closes out on Monday when Arsenal travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United. This was the biggest game in Premier League soccer not too long ago but both side have had a fall from grace since those times.
Manchester United still look lost since Alex Ferguson left them six years ago, chopping and changing with managers and lacking a stable squad which can really compete with the best teams in England. Arsenal seem to be slowly building something solid under Unai Emery and the Gunners have a great opportunity to win something this season, whether it’s the Europa League, Carabao Cup or the FA Cup.
Emery’s side should travel to Manchester with no fear in their minds. United have already lost to Crystal Palace at home and were poor in last week’s loss to West Ham as well as in their midweek Carabao Cup match with Rochdale – a game which they narrowly won on penalties.
Ultimately, Arsenal are more of a team than Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s United side are right now and that should be enough of a difference when it comes to the result. Both sides have great players but the Red Devils don’t look like a collective at the moment. They have periods of games where they look strong but they’re not consistent enough.
That doesn’t mean that this game won’t be competitive, especially considering Arsenal’s defense has looked quite suspect this season. However, it does mean that if Arsenal play to their full potential then they should win this one.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will bag a goal either side of a Nicolas Pepe strike with Manchester United netting courtesy of a Harry Maguire header. It will finish 3-1 though and even more pressure will be mounted on Solskjaer.
