DFS Advice: Defenses to Start
Colts D/ST vs. OAK
If you’re looking for a quick-fix-defense this week, look no further. The Indianapolis Colts could very well be the solution to your problem. While the Colts have not been impressive by any means this year, we must take into account the fact that they have played both the Chargers and Falcons in two of these three weeks who possess formidable weapons on their side like Keenan Allen, Julio Jones, and Calvin Ridley to name a few.
Indianapolis will be going up against Oakland this week, who outside of Josh Jacobs and Darren Waller doesn’t have the same type of offensive firepower like Los Angeles or Atlanta. Another key factor to keep your eye on is that if linebacker Darius Leonard does return this week, the Colts take a giant leap forward in the rankings. There aren’t many intriguing streaming options out there this week, so Indianapolis might be your best bet.
Vikings D/ST @ CHI
Minnesota’s defense has been strong to start off the 2019 season after a rather disappointing 2018 campaign. They’ve garnered six takeaways in their first three games as a unit and look to build on top of that against the Bears at Soldier Field this week. Chicago’s offense is 26th in points scored this year and Mitchell Trubisky has been downright bad so far. He’s currently 25th in passing yards, ninth in interceptable passes and has the sixth-worst supporting cast efficiency rate among starting quarterbacks. Look for the Vikings to put up another solid performance this week, with the potential for some real significant upside if things bounce right.
Jaguars D/ST @ DEN
If there was ever a week of redemption for the Jacksonville Jaguars, it’s now. Amidst the team having a bit of a fallout with star corner Jalen Ramsey, the Jaguars still possess a good shot at having a highly productive Sunday. Ramsey may not even play this weekend while he deals with the birth of his child, an illness, and a back injury all at once. It’s been pretty chaotic, to say the least with Jacksonville’s secondary, but they can seek solace in the fact that they will be facing Denver this weekend. The Broncos have many issues with their offense and it’s the perfect opportunity for the Jags to pounce. As a whole, Denver’s offense ranks 30th in total points scored, and 23rd in total yards this year. Plug Jacksonville in with confidence this week, even with all the craziness swirling around Ramsey.
