NFL DFS bargain bin: Week 4 Tight Ends

Delanie Walker, TEN at ATL (DraftKings-$4,800/FanDuel-$5,700/FantasyDraft-$8,500/Yahoo-$19)

Walker was dealing with what appears to have been a minor knee issue earlier in the practice week, but he finished up without an injury designation. The veteran tight end has been one of the few reliable week-to-week pieces of the Titans passing game early on, having seen at least six targets in each contest and already compiling 16 receptions. His chemistry with Marcus Mariota is unquestioned, and he’ll draw a favorable matchup overall Sunday.

The Falcons have allowed a 17-190 line to tight ends through the first three games, and as mentioned earlier, that’s with having faced a team in the Vikings that only put up 10 passes against them in the opener. Atlanta also just lost stud safety Keanu Neal to his second Achilles tear in the last three seasons, which naturally puts a dent in their back-end defense. With Walker’s locked-in workload and role in a game where the Titans should pass a fair amount, he’s a solid cash or tournament play at his modest prices.

T.J. Hockenson, DET vs. KC (DraftKings-$3,300/FanDuel-$5,200/FantasyDraft-$6,000/Yahoo-$18)

Much like Ridley, Hockenson is another player that offers that fascinating mix of upside, discount and what is almost assuredly going to be minuscule ownership. The rookie has disappointed those who’ve drafted him in consecutive weeks, but he could have a sneaky opportunity to cause some havoc this week in one of the few games projected to have some above-average scoring.

The Cardinals are widely regarded as the most susceptible team to tight ends, yet it’s actually the Chiefs that have allowed the most catches (26) to the position through three games. Kansas City hasn’t yet surrendered a tight end touchdown, but Hockenson’s big-play ability could certainly change that in a hurry. While his two catches over the last two weeks are concerning, Hockenson has seen a respectable seven targets during that span and could thrive in an all-hands-on-deck situation for the Lions offense in their effort to keep up with Patrick Mahomes and company.
