Yahoo NFL – Daily fantasy football: Week four picks
By Raju Byfield
Yahoo NFL: Preston Williams ($14 salary)
Preston Williams appears primed for a breakout game against the Los Angeles Chargers. 10th in the league in air yards in Week 3, Williams saw an elite number one receiver level 29 percent target share from Josh Rosen.
Rosen’s affinity for his rookie receiver goes all the way back to the off season. Rosen seems to agree with Xavien Howard’s assertion that Williams has the makings of a true number one in the NFL. The Chargers have allowed 2.6 20 yard receptions per contest and have allowed 14 receptions for 174 receiving yards per game.
Williams should see another double digit target game and will look to take advantage of his new signal callers trust in him. The Chargers have allowed the 17th most fantasy points per game to the wide receiver position and give the undrafted free agent a chance to make his first statement game.
Yahoo NFL: Marquise Brown ($20 salary)
Marquise Brown has looked like one of the top receivers in the league through his first three NFL games. He can get open at will against single coverage, and is quickly learning how to contend with bracket looks.
This week he faces off against a Cleveland Browns team set to be without their top two corners in Denzel Ward and Greedy Williams. The Browns have relinquished 12 receptions and 161 receiving yards to the wide receiver position per contest.
They could give up much more against the explosive Ravens offense. A big play waiting to happen who has seen targets on 34.6 percent of his routes this season (second in the league), Brown is due for another big fantasy outing after disappointing against the Chiefs. Start Brown if you can fit him into your lineup until the salary setters give him his respect.
D.K. Metcalf ($15 salary)
Ninth in the league in air yards after three weeks of play, D.K. Metcalf is primed to explode. The Cardinals have allowed 11.33 receptions, 151 receiving yards, and 1.33 touchdowns per game to open the season.
Due to being without Patrick Peterson for three more contests, the Cardinals are going to have a tough time guarding both Tyler Lockett and Metcalf. He has seen at least six targets in each of his contests and has played the second most snaps of any receiver on the team. I considered names like Christian Kirk here but opted for upside over floor.
