Fantasy football picks: Week 4 MNF Steelers vs. Bengals

Joe Mixon – I wouldn’t be surprised if Cincinnati was leading this game, and by a significant margin. This game script suits well for the young running back, and although he was hampered by an injury after the first week, he looked fully recovered in his third game where he had his most rushing attempts, and had a slight increase in snaps at 57% even though on the year he has split carries with Gio Bernard pretty evenly.

Pittsburgh gives up the fourth-most points to the running back position. It’s also worth noting that Mixon is a very capable pass catcher himself, although he will likely give up those targets to Gio Bernard. This is a great play at the price point.

James Conner – My personal favorite play on this slate is Conner. So far he has been one of the biggest busts, especially when you consider how well he performed last season. Cincinnati gives up the second-most points to the running back position, and rank 28th with a 5.2% DVOA. The snap count has been quite low at 55.2% which might partly be due to the fact that he was battling a slight injury in the first couple of games.

He did log 13 carries in his last start, which was a year high, still averaging four catches per game, logging less than 50 rushing yards in each game. These numbers all sound very bad when you get down to it, but this is the time for him to step up, with Big Ben down, he is the best chance this team has to put up any sort of points.
