Daily fantasy golf: FanDuel PGA – Top value picks (Below $9,000)

Kurt Kitayama – $7,300 – (Cash/GPP)

Speaking of narratives, Kurt Kitayama got the late invite to come back home to the states this week, after an up-and-down season on the European Tour is where he spent most of last season. He missed a small handful of cuts, but he also broke through with a win at the Oman Open in March, which is likely what kept him there in the first place. He did not have much success on the Korn Ferry Tour following college but seems to have found a steady paycheck on the European Tour.

More from Fantasy Golf

Kitayama was born in California, but attended UNLV from 2011-2015, making him yet another golfer who will have a sort of a home game this week.  I am encouraged by the fact that he has made the weekend on three straight on the European Tour coming into this week, and his T-14 at the BMW PGA Championship two weeks ago was equal to his best finish since his victory back in March. The 26-year-old also T-14 at the Trophy Hassan at the end of April.

This is not exactly a Ryan Moore situation from last week as Kitayama is just not the established golfer that Moore is, but the consistency as of late albeit on the European Tour has me taking the gamble in cash games. With the new PGA cut rule of T-65 or better with no MDF, we are starting to see that getting 6/6 through in cash games is becoming less important than picking two or three golfers in the top-ten or so. I am slowly warming up to the punt one spot in cash games strategy, especially if we continue to get golfers near minimum price that could easily make the weekend.
