Fantasy Football Advice: Injury Info and Impact

Josh Allen is in the league’s concussion protocol and is questionable this week as the Bills take on the Titans in the game with the lowest Vegas total on the slate. We could see another week of Matt Barkley at quarterback for Buffalo and that entire game seems to scream “stay away” from a DFS perspective.

Mitch Trubisky is already doubtful for the Bears game against the Raiders in London. Chase Daniel played well in his stead last week and is an interesting cheap option this week against a Raiders defense that just lost Vontaze Burfict for the rest of the season to suspension.

The Browns receiving core could be thin this week if Jarvis Landry misses any time due to his first NFL concussion and Rashard Higgins misses another game. Landry had a career-high 167 receiving yards last week while teammate Odell Beckham Jr. was held to only 20 yards on two catches.

Jamaal Williams suffered a head injury early in last Thursday’s game against the Eagles and his status is very much in question for Sunday’s game against Dallas. Aaron Jones had 19 touches against the Eagles and would be in line for a heavy workload this week if Williams is indeed ruled out.

The Chargers get Melvin Gordon back this week, but are likely to be without running back Justin Jackson and have three receivers who are all questionable (Mike Williams, Dontrelle Inman, and Travis Benjamin).

Sam Darnold could end up playing for the Jets this weekend as he’s been cleared for non-contact drills. It still seems unlikely he’d be back this soon, but he’s trending in the right direction.

No one, not even Jay Gruden knows who is starting at quarterback for the Redskins this week. We could even see Colt McCoy since both Case Keenum and Dwayne Haskins looked bad against the Giants last week. Whoever draws that start gets to face the Patriots excellent defensive unit, good luck!

Rashaad Penny missed another game last week, allowing Chris Carson to have a nice (fumble-free) game against the Cardinals. Penny practiced in full on Monday and makes for a compelling GPP play on Thursday night’s showdown slate considering the Seahawks are playing on only a few days rest and may want to lighten Carson’s burden.
