Fantasy football waiver wire: Week 5 adds

Giants

The Giants face the Vikings at home in week 5. After what we saw from Kirk Cousins in week 4, I’d use the Giants defense in my DFS lineup as well as season-long.

More from Fantasy Football

They forced four turnovers against the Redskins and allowed 176 total yards. Cousins has 735 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions on the season.

The Vikings said at the beginning of the season that they want to run more. If the Giants can limit Dalvin Cook‘s damage, they will force Cousins to throw and that is what fantasy owners want.

Texans

Any other season, this would not be a good matchup but this Falcons team does not look good. Matt Ryan is second in passing yards but has eight touchdowns and six interceptions. Julio Jones and Austin Hooper have over 300 yards each. The team has just one total rushing touchdown.

The Texans defense hasn’t recorded a lot of interceptions but has pressured the quarterback with 13 sacks and eight fumble recoveries.

The running game will need to step up but I think the Texans front line will create some pressure.

Raiders

The Raiders face a Bears offense that will be without Mitchell Trubisky. He has a dislocated left shoulder with a slight labrum tear. While surgery isn’t likely, he’s out this week. That means Chase Daniel will be under center.

He went 22-for-30 with 195 yards and a touchdown. The Bears running game is non-existant as David Montgomery has 200 yards and a score. No other rusher has over 70 yards.

Allen Robinson has looked good after three weeks but I think his value drops a bit with Daniel under center. The Raiders defense is my top stream of the week.

Next. Dalvin Cook still thriving in an offense stuck in neutral. dark

The waiver wire has a lot of talent with some good matchups fantasy football owners can take advantage of for a big week 5 win. Manage your claims and your FAAB budget and you should get the players you want. Continue to check out FanSided Fantasy for more advice.
