Week 5 Fantasy Football: Five bounce back players

Julian Edelman – It hasn’t been a great season for Edelman either, especially when you consider how good the Patriots offense has been, and the departure of Antonio Brown after one game. Julian is an every down receiver, with a high snap count, and 32 targets through four games. He had not reached 100 yards, and has only one score. Buffalo limited him to five points, but Washington is going to give up plenty of points in this game.

I mentioned this pace of this game in my Tom Brady slide, but I think that regardless of the pace Julian should have double digit targets possibly in the first two quarters. Josh Gordon will surely see plenty of targets himself, but Edelman has always been Brady’s favorite target. He will be wide open over the middle of the field all game long, much like Shepard was last week, and he had a pretty solid game.

The Redskins give up the most fantasy points to the wide receiver position and recently got torched by the likes of Wayne Gallman through the air. Edelman will likely avoid the coverage of Josh Norman as well, not that it really matter a whole lot as I mentioned earlier. The Pats will be racking up plenty of points, and this game does have plenty of blowout concerns. That’s not something I will worry about a whole lot because of the game is a blowout Edelman likely would have gotten plenty of points already.
