3. Oregon State at UCLA – Over 66.0 points

Neither the Oregon State Beavers nor the UCLA Bruins are good football teams. As the former heads to the Rose Bowl on Saturday, both teams have just one win on the year. And what has become abundantly clear with each of these teams is that their lack of a good defense is one of the primary reasons for the lack of success thus far in the 2019 season.

In the case of Oregon State, they’ve simply been getting steamrolled by any team that has any kind of offensive firepower. They’re allowing 30.3 points per game on the season and have allowed at least 30 points in every game this season except for a 48-7 win over Cal Poly, which really doesn’t say a whole lot about the Beavers defense.

Meanwhile, UCLA’s defense has somehow been worse, even if they’ve had some tough matchups along the way. Chip Kelly’s Bruins are giving up 35.6 points per game this season, including allowing 63 points to Washington State and 48 points to Oklahoma.

At the same time, both of these teams have shown that they have a little bit of offensive juice to them. Oregon State has averaged a solid 34.3 points per contest on the year while UCLA, though inconsistent, showed their scoring prowess in that shootout with Washington State, scoring 67 points.

When you have two awful defenses matching up against capable offenses — especially in the Pac-12 — that’s the recipe for a non-stop scoring affair. Therefore, the over in this game is clearly one of the best bets in college football.
