DraftKings college football quarterback picks October 3

Top Tier:

Holton Ahlers has more interceptions than touchdowns against the likes of William & Mary, Garnder-Webb, Navy, Old Dominion, and North Carolina State. Temple’s defense is better than all of them! Ahlers completed just eight of 21 passes against Old Dominion. Stay far away from this one.

Middle Tier:

On the other side of this game, Anthony Russo completed just nine of 22 against Georgia Tech, but overall he has had a solid season. Russo had at least 37 pass attempts in all of the other games. Add that kind of volume to the porous ECU defense and you have the highest ceiling on the slate.

Bargain Shoppers:

Shai Werts was back under center for Georgia Southern. Werts was a little sluggish in his first action since week one, but he did account for 25 touchdowns last season. At a position where there really isn’t a sure thing, Werts has solid upside since he is the focal point of the offense. He gets as many carries as the running backs do.

The last starter we have is Cephus Johnson. Johnson isn’t much of a passer, but he did throw 34 times against Nebraska and 26 times against Monroe last week. He can air it out if he needs to, and Johnson still gets a solid number of carries. This is more of a hybrid option offense, so Johnson is an intriguing option for the price.
