Daily Fantasy Football: Wide Receiver Pivots

Chalk: DeAndre Hopkins, Will Fuller, Adam Thielen, Golden Tate

Pivots: Josh Gordon, Chris Godwin, Emmanuel Sanders

The Texans receivers look like the chalk this week since Atlanta hasn’t been able to stop anyone this year so far. Adam Thielen is quickly becoming a chalky play against the Giants secondary with the Stefon Diggs disappearance, and Golden Tate is super cheap in his first game back in the lineup after his suspension. I would add another Tate, Auden Tate of the Bengals, into the cheap chalky play category now that John Ross has been ruled out for a while.

Chris Godwin saw his price go up on both major sites after a dominant outing against the Rams last week, but he is still projecting at lower ownership than 7 or 8 other receivers this week. It’s possible that his price could help to lower his ownership or a perceived tough matchup against a Saints defense that held the Cowboys to 10 points last week.

But I really like Godwin this week. He has run 56% of his routes out of the slot this year and should be able to avoid Marshon Lattimore’s coverage. Instead, he should draw P.J. Williams, who grades pretty poorly against Godwin’s route tree and is a mismatch against Godwin’s size and physicality.  I think Godwin has a great chance of having another big week and Winston could just feed him the ball all day again.
