Daily Fantasy Football: Wide Receiver Pivots

As I mentioned earlier while discussing Tom Brady, I really want to target the Patriots passing game this week and while Julian Edelman is always a solid choice to stack with Brady, my top play is Josh Gordon this week. Gordon is potentially going to get shadowed by the once formidable Josh Norman. However, Norman has simply been mediocre at best this season and is not a guy to scare us off using an elite receiver against anymore.

Gordon is Brady’s main downfield threat and since Antonio Brown’s departure after week 2, he’s been targeted 18 times over the last two games. While Edelman might move the chains with 5-10 yard catches on short routes, Gordon is the guy who can take the lid off the defense and I think he has 100-yard and two touchdown type upside in this matchup this week.

If I’m looking for a stacking mate to pair with Joe Flacco this week, it’s going to be between Emmanuel Sanders, Courtland Sutton, and rookie tight end Noah Fant. Sutton and Fant both found the end zone last week with Sutton catching two touchdowns, but Sanders is my favorite guy this week and here’s why. Sutton is likely to get shadow coverage from the Chargers best corner Casey Hayward, while will leave Brandon Facyson on Sanders.

I’d much rather target Facyson and if Flacco is smart he will, too. Denver’s receivers have been getting open all year long as my friend @EricNMoody pointed out this week they rank first in the league in target separation. If Flacco can get the ball out quickly this week, he should be able to move the chains and Sanders is still his favorite receiver as he’s been targeted more (34) than Sutton (31).
