DraftKings EuroLeague Guards:

Alexey Shved remains one of the best players in the EuroLeague, but he missed the recent World Cup with a foot injury. He was spotted at practice in Moscow recently, but there is still no official status leading up to the opener. If Shved plays, play him. $11,500 isn’t enough to compromise the rest of the positions.

The playoff series against Real Madrid was the only thing that could cool off Nick Calathes back in March. A matchup with Belgrade looks really nice here, but he will be highly owned if Shved can’t go. I like Calathes for cash just in case we don’t get word. In GPP’s, I’ll move off of Calathes if Shved is out.

I normally would not be high on Facundo Campazzo here, but he set a team record with 15 assists in the third place game at the Final Four in May against Fenerbahce. The chances of him doing that again aren’t great, but I can still see Campazzo having a strong game under the radar here.

For the savings though, I think I prefer Kostas Sloukas on the other side. He was more consistent against Real Madrid in the games in the regular season. Both Nate Wolters and Scottie Wilbekin are solid plays against Khimki, but neither had a big game against them last season.

Petteri Koponen looks like a great value here. Koponen put up an average of 19.2 DraftKings points against the Milan backcourt last year. Nihad Dedovic will set you back a little more and was only marginally better. If you feel good about fading the top, put both of these guys in there. You at least know what you’re getting against the Milan guards. Even Maodo Lo looks good if you need to go really cheap.

Michael Roll racked up 48.6 DraftKings points in only 39 minutes against Bayern Munich last year. The bottom tier of guard is loaded with value. That allows us to pay up in the frontcourt, or to use both Shved and Calahtes. This is a luxury that wont be there as the season goes on.
