Welcome to Week 5’s NFL DFS game-by-game breakdown! These will be weekly pieces that are published every Wednesday or Thursday morning, giving you a comprehensive look at every single game of the week from Thursday through Monday.

It pains me to say it, but we’re officially a quarter of the way through the 2019 NFL DFS season. We’ve now got a rather good idea of how backfield touches and passing targets will be distributed throughout offenses. There’s also been the typical share of injuries that have opened up a heap of opportunity, including Saquon Barkley, A.J. Green, Ben Roethlisberger, Drew Brees, and Tyreek Hill to name a few.

Last week, we saw a game total 94 points, the Chiefs put together a 90-second comeback and the Steelers finally got themselves into the win column. Christian McCaffrey topped 25 fantasy points while Austin Ekeler scored another touchdown ahead of the return of Melvin Gordon, proving the top-tier running backs are the most sought-after assets in DFS week in and week out.

With that said, we turn our attention to another 15-game week throughout the NFL and another game by game breakdown brought to you by yours truly and FanSided Fantasy. This week, I’ve decided to condense it just a bit and make it a bit easier to read. I will go over a quick synopsis of the overall matchup, followed by a list of players for cash and tournament formats, each with a sentence or two to back the play up.

As always, DVOA rankings are derived from Football Outsiders, while the use of PFF grades comes from Pro Football Focus’ Player Grades.
