NFL DFS: Minnesota Vikings @ New York Giants

PREVIEW

After a brutal showing against the Bears last week, the Vikings find themselves in a prime bounce-back spot against a Giants defense that ranks in the bottom half of the league in both rush and pass DVOA. It’ll be interesting to see whether or not the Vikings elect to air it out a bit more after the comments made earlier in the week by WR Adam Thielen, or if they stick to the script and jam it down the throats of Giants defensive line. Either way, their offense should be able to thrive in this spot.

On the other side, the Giants have some tough sledding against a defense ranked 4th in rush DVOA, but a rather middling 16th in pass DVOA. With Golden Tate back in the fold after his suspension, this gives Daniel Jones another viable weapon to spread the ball around.

CASH PLAYS

  • Dalvin Cook (RB – MIN): The Vikings are a 5.5-point favorite on Sunday, which should lead to another healthy workload for Cook, who has recorded 20+ touches in every single game this season as well as a touchdown in each.
  • Adam Thielen (WR – MIN): The Giants have allowed the 3rd most fantasy points per game to the WR position (31.9) and with Stefon Diggs’ status currently up in the air after missing practice on Wednesday for an undisclosed reason, his targets could be through the roof for a reduced rate.
  • Golden Tate (WR – NYG): Tate makes his return from suspension at minimum price on FanDuel and should operate out of the slot against Mackensie Alexander, who’s posted his lowest PFF grade since 2016 (52.9).

GPP PLAYS

  • Evan Engram (TE – NYG): Engram is the #1 TE in PPR formats on the season and would still rank as a top-10 WR option if he were to be matched up against them (WR9 particularly). The Vikings have only allowed 6.4 fantasy points per game to the position, but the volume should help mitigate the difficulty of the matchup.
