NFL DFS: New York Jets @ Philadelphia Eagles

PREVIEW

Fresh off of a bye-week, the Jets head to Philadelphia to take on a team carrying a heap of momentum after winning a tough game in Lambeau on Thursday Night Football last week.

Sam Darnold remains questionable with mono and the ill-effects of losing the starting quarterback are glaringly obvious. The matchup with the Eagles porous secondary should help pile up some fantasy points while they’re trailing, but it’s still a tough offense to trust.

This is a prime smash-spot for the Eagles’ offense as a whole, as the Jets have allowed the 3rd most fantasy points to WRs and 10th most to RBs, making the floors of their position-players a bit higher.

CASH PLAYS

  • Carson Wentz (QB-PHI): The Jets have been a middle-of-the-pack team against QBs this season, but Wentz has been the epitome of consistent, posting no less than 19.54 FanDuel points in a single game this season and gets to face a Jets secondary that has been pouring out production to WRs, which Wentz has plenty of.
  • Alshon Jeffery (WR-PHI): Jeffery bounced back from injury in Week 4 and led the team in targets (9) but was only able to corral 3 of them. This isn’t a trend that I expect to continue and the Jets have allowed the 4th most fantasy points to WRs this season (29.8).
  • PHI D/ST: This secondary has gotten burned a few times this season, but if Darnold remains out this week, this should be one of the easiest offenses on the board to contain.

GPP PLAYS

  • Le’Veon Bell (RB-NYJ): Bell has received at least 22 touches in each of his first three games with the Jets and while the Eagles front-7 presents a tough challenge, the volume gives him a heap of upside. He’s rather immune to game-script, as he’s seen 9, 10 and 4 targets in his three games, showing heavy involvement in all aspects of the game. He should come with absolutely no ownership this week, making him a strong GPP play at only $7,300 on FanDuel.
  • Robby Anderson (WR-NYJ): The track record of WR1s against Philadelphia continued last week, as Davante Adams had over 100 receiving yards in the first half. While Anderson is not an elite talent, he has elite big-play upside if Darnold comes back and gets Anderson’s volume back on track.
