FanDuel NHL blue line power plays: Oct. 4 all day or main slates
By Matt Rogers
Top FanDuel NHL Goalies & Summary: Oct. 4
As I mentioned earlier, the goalie position is challenging at the start of the season. We often see very talented net-minders struggling to build a rhythm. But, once they do later in the season, they’re nearly locks.
Concurrently, we will also have less talented net-minders go on short hot streaks, with only a few lasting later into the season. So, picking the top goalie for this slate will not be easy, and feel free to take a risk.
All of that being said, I do see a trend from the preseason I’d like to focus on for this slate. This only works for the all-day. Carter Hart ($8,000) should see a decent volume of shots from the Hawks talented wingers and center-men. However, Hart is playing well in goal lately, and is generally an incredible talent.
Meanwhile, I’ve seen the Blackhawks struggle over the preseason, and it wouldn’t surprise me if the Flyers pull off a wide-margin win on Friday afternoon. I could be wrong, but this seems like a very good play today.
If you’re only playing the Main or late slates, Frederik Andersen ($8,800) and Marc-Andre Fleury ($8,600) should have the best match-ups, and therefore are most likely to get you over 20 FanDuel NHL points.
If you can’t afford Andersen or Fleury, I’d consider Cory Schneider ($7,300). The Jets are a high goal-scoring team on the road, but the Devils have a lot of talent, are on home ice, and Schneider could be a sneaky value play over a cheaper Jets net-minder Laurent Brossoit ($7,100), who I think has too much risk.
After reviewing our favorite options, here’s an example of a lineup we put together for Wednesday, Oct. 4 All Day slate. For the Main slate, you can modify but still use several of these plays:
C Tavares (TOR $7,700)
C Karlsson ($6,500)
W Stone (VGK $7,500)
W Konecny (PHI $6,000)
W Smith (VGK $5,800)
W Twarynski (PHI $3,300)
D Barrie (TOR $6,300)
D Toews (NYI $3,800)
G Hart (PHI $8,000)
Note: This is a recommended lineup after discussing our top options for the week. You should use this as a guide, and provide your own input when building FanDuel NHL lineups. We are not telling you, or selling you, to use this lineup.
