Fantasy football picks: Week 5 FanDuel GPP breakdown

Mark Ingram – Another player for the bounce back article? Oh yes, Mark comes in as one of my top GPP plays on the day. The projected ownership is low, as the game loggers will despise playing a guy who scored less than ten points twice in the past three weeks.

The Pittsburgh defense looked much better on Monday night, shutting down most of the Bengals offense. They still have struggled against running backs on the year, giving up the third-most points to them, with the 20th ranked DVOA against the rush. I talked about Ingram and his snap count being low, which is my major concern with him. Outside of that, he is an elite GPP play.

Derrick Henry – The workhorse back for Tennessee is priced just right for this game with the Bills. He rushed 27 times last game against Atlanta, and while we can’t expect that type of production again, he is getting the bulk of the rushing attempts. Dion Lewis has gotten 43% of the snaps, which mostly consists of passing plays.

Buffalo has a pretty solid defense, but they do give up the eleventh most fantasy points to running backs with a 1.5% DVOA against the rush good for 25th. The game script should suit Henry well, and he will be very low owned.

James White – This is as true of a GPP running back as it gets. White will be less than 1% owned, and his production is fully dependent on what he does in the passing game. Another thing to keep in mind is the status of Rex Burkhead, who leads the team in snaps at 41%. You have to assume that if he does sit out, those snap get split between Michel and White. In three games, White got 21 targets. He is an excellent way to stack up the Patriots with Brady.
