NFL DFS Week 5: Fantasy football cash game breakdown

Deshaun Watson – FanDuel $8000 DraftKings $6700

He’s not cheap, he’s been extremely up and down (literally alternating the last 4 weeks) and he’s coming off a bad game. Hear me out though. Atlanta is really bad. I mean the Falcons made Marcus Mariota and AJ Brown look all world last week. It was incredible really and we know they’re terrible in intermediate coverage against running backs too. It looks as though Kenny Stills has a hamstring problem coming into this week and may not go which has me loving Will Fuller and all his air yards and weighted opportunity. The Texans can’t seem to figure out their running game and keep giving Hyde too many inefficient opportunities. Also, take into account Hopkins had a rare bad game last week and I’m looking for a big bounce back. All of this adds up to a nice week for Deshaun. If you don’t want to pay up for him though, I have some more options.

Kyler Murray – FanDuel $7400 DraftKings $6300

I’ll start off by acknowledging I don’t love the play on DraftKings. I do think he’s very affordable on FanDuel though and I tend to really like paying down at quarterback in cash games. Also, the Bengals are really terrible. Even my Steelers tore them up this past Monday albeit not that much through the air technically. I think Kyler could put up some nice fantasy points and is part of a stack I like a lot with David Johnson. I do believe Christian Kirk will be out this week which doesn’t really help Murray’s prospects but the Bengals are just so bad I’m not sure it’ll matter too much. I have him projected to get close to 20 points on FanDuel and he’s got legitimate 3x upside at that price too assuming the Bengals can keep it close or turn this slop fest into a high scoring affair.

Lamar Jackson – FanDuel $8300 DraftKings $7100

Full disclosure – I don’t like this play but he could easily surprise me. I think Pittsburgh’s defense is for real after the Fitzpatrick trade. They looked great the last two weeks granted one of them was against Dalton. This is an in conference game at Pittsburgh and while the Ravens are probably going to come out hard after getting smashed in by the Browns, I still think this will be more of a low scoring affair where Lamar doesn’t put up a ton of points.  A few other guys I would look at, more specifically on DraftKings, are full punts with Carolina’s quarterback or buying into the Gardner Minshew hype train. I would only do that if it gets you guys you absolutely love.
