NFL DFS Week 5: Fantasy football cash game breakdown
Dalvin Cook – FanDuel $8200 DraftKings $8400
Cook has jumped off the television to me when watching any Minnesota games. It’s a real shame their passing offense is so bad teams can just stack the box against them because I honestly think he’s the best running back right now outside of Saquanda Forever Barkley and Christian Dairy Sanders McCaffrey. Seriously he can do it all and more importantly, he can take it to the house at any point. The Vikings get the Giants this week who have been playing a bit better defense as the team seems to be emboldened. I don’t expect this to be a high scoring affair and for Cook to be leaned on pretty heavily to try and grind out a win. Keeping the ball out of Kirk Cousins’ hand is the only way they seem to win.
Ezekiel Elliott – FanDuel $8800 DraftKings $8300
This one scares me a bit after how little he was used in the blowout win against Miami two weeks ago when he was super chalk. However, I think they just wanted to be sure to protect their recent investment and not give him too much run when they didn’t need to. He didn’t do well in the Saints game but that’s sort of to be expected. I think we’re discovering that Michael Gallup is incredibly important to this Cowboys offense to help disperse the attention of the defense off of Cooper and Zeke. All of that said, I think he’s a great play this week. The Packers run defense looked like swiss cheese recently and if anyone can take advantage of a porous run defense, it’s going to be Zeke.
Christian McCaffrey – FanDuel $9100 DraftKings $8700
I don’t love this play this week but he’s definitely going to see some ownership. The number of snaps he hasn’t been on the field or involved somehow in the Panthers offense is astounding. We’ve learned this year that opportunity is greater than talent as evidenced by Gallman last week. CMac is definitely going to get plenty of opportunities and he’s also incredibly talented. I still have quite a bit of respect for the Jaguars defense though and think they can hold CMac just enough to where there are better plays for the salary. Will he still produce? Of course. Can you get better bang for your buck? I think so. Let’s keep looking.
