NFL DFS Week 5: Fantasy football cash game breakdown
NFL DFS Week 5: Fantasy football cash game breakdown
Julio Jones – FanDuel $8200 DraftKings $7700
Normally reserved to be an NFL DFS GPP strategy, I kind of love the idea of bringing it back in our Houston stack with Julio. He’s just too good and Matt Ryan hasn’t been awesome this year like I expected but he’s been serviceable. He’s also shown that when playing from behind (and as long as they’re outside of the redzone smh) he will look for Julio consistently. It’s very early in the week but Julio currently is projecting to score a smidge more than Hopkins and from early information, looks to be the highest owned wide receiver as of Thursday night. That is (very) likely to change but still something to think about and should still impact our decision making.
Adam Thielen – FanDuel $6900 DraftKings $6700
INCREDIBLY affordable on FanDuel, the squeaky wheel Adam Thielen finds himself in arguably the best matchup around. Yes, the Giants have played better defense the past two weeks with their rejuvenated quarterback but their pass defense is notoriously horrible. A big reason people are talking about Thielen (and Diggs who is not cash viable) is that they have been complaining about the passing game and Kirk Cousins. Rightfully so as far as I’m concerned. Kirk has been horrible and he deserves to hear about it. Thielen used to be the safest play around but this passing game has been horrible. Thielen has randomly gotten into the endzone on a handoff but they really need to throw the ball to him and hopefully that happens this week.
Larry Fitzgerald – FanDuel $5800 DraftKings $6000
Old man Fitz has been a staple in my NFL DFS cash game lineups and articles so far this year and he’s back again. I don’t know if I’ll be playing him this week but I get why people like him. I feel as though we’ve gone ad nauseam on the Bengals bad defense. Christian Kirk being out probably helps Fitzgerald’s target share go up as well. The thing is though, I would much rather prioritize David Johnson and I do not want a running back and wide receiver from a team this bad. A full on stack in tournaments? Sure thing. I am prioritizing David Johnson over Larry Fitzgerald this week though and I definitely do not want both of them in cash.
