NFL DFS Week 5: Fantasy football cash game breakdown

Patriots – FD $5500 DK $4300

I admittedly have a really terrible memory but I can’t remember seeing defenses cost this much on FanDuel. It’s insane and yet they keep being difference makers and putting up points. I used to always “punt” at defense and pay down a good bit but this year, the Patriots defense has been incredible because their schedule is so easy and this week is no different. If you happen to have the salary, don’t fiddle with it and just play them in cash.

Eagles – FD $4900 DK $3700

Yes, we like to target passing attacks against the Eagles because their secondary is terrible. No that doesn’t matter this week against the hapless Jets (sorry Brian). They’re playing their 8th string quarterback and don’t really have any playmakers aside from Le’Veon Bell. Going up against Bell does worry me a bit but this offense projects to just be so bad, I can’t let that sway me off of the Eagles D.

Panthers – FD $4400 DK $2600

I honestly have no idea why Carolina’s defense keeps being priced down this far. I played them last week very successfully (especially on DraftKings) and they’re in a much better matchup this week. Don’t get me wrong – I love the Gardner Minshew hype train and Fournette tore Denver a new one last week but this isn’t what I would consider an explosive offense. The Carolina defense have more than held it together and sprinkled in some sacks and turnovers and I see more of the same happening this week in NFL DFS.
