NXT UK recap, October 3: Shine bright like a wizard

Justice for Mike Bird vs. Jack Starz

You’d be forgiven for expecting a squash against like, Joseph Conners, upon seeing a guy named “Mike Bird” entering the ring. However, Bird’s appearance is a special treat for the crowd, as he is perhaps the “godfather” of the Welsh wrestling scene. He has trained many, including Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster. And BAH GAWD, that’s Jack Starz’s music! What a gift of a match!

Except, Jack Starz doesn’t so much walk down to the ring as his lifeless corpse is dragged out by Mark Coffey and Wolfgang. As Mark Coffey, Emmy award-winning writer for The Big Bang Theory puts it, “Jack is seeing starz.” Nice. Marcus and Wolfie hit the ring and ask Bird to shake their hands, for training such fine boys like Andrews and Webster. But, Mark soon reneges on that offer, instead opting to pass on a message. Unfortunately for Mike Bird, it’s a message of pain.

Coffey and Wolfgang beat down poor Bird until the tag champs’ music hits. They sprint down to the ring only to end up right in Gallus’ trap, as we are presented with the amazing visual of Joe Coffey also sprinting down to the ring, in hot pursuit. Joe grabs Flash Morgan Webster before he can get in the ring, leaving Andrews to get mobbed two-on-one. Them wily Gallus boys stand tall, on top, coming for that tag team gold.
