DraftKings Showdown: Cheap Options

Eric Ebron – $5,000 / Jack Doyle – $4,800

While the Colts are the fourth-worst at defending the tight end. the Kansas City Chiefs are not much better allowing 8.6 fantasy points to the position which is 8th worst. The Colts will have to throw to stay in this game making both tight ends viable in your flex. While Ebron has the higher touchdown upside, both tight ends should see an increased volume share should Hilton miss again.

More from DFS

Deon Cain – $1,200

My favorite wide receiver for the Colts not named T.Y. Hilton this week will be Deon Cain. It looks as though Parris Campbell will be out, which should increase Cain’s playing time. He was sensational in camp last season before tearing his ACL and looks to be near 100% over a year removed from the injury. After playing 73% of the snaps last week, Cain should see the field, even more, this week.

Zach Pascal – $4,200 Chester Rogers – $3,600

Colts Receiver Pool I play if Hilton is IN – Hilton / Cain / Pascal

Colts Receiver Pool I play if Hilton is OUT – Cain / Pascal / Rogers

Jordan Wilkins – $3,000

I am only playing Jordan Wilkins if Mack is OUT. If Mack is out, Wilkins becomes the best value on the slate at 3k.

Mo Alie-Cox – $600

If you’re on team jam them in, you will need some salary savings on this slate. The former basketball player is a threat down in the red-zone and capable of paying off his value with just one catch at $600. I would not have more than a sprinkle of Cox, as he sees less than 15% of snaps weekly.

Byron Pringle – $200

Another salary savor that is likely to see less than 5% of snaps, but was clutch last week at the end of the game is Byron Pringle. Maybe Reid gives him more playing time with his excellent play in the final two minutes of the game? With Tyreek Hill likely out, he is a Hail Mary that only sees time if an injury or two occurs.

DraftKings Showdown: Special Teams / Defensive Flex Options

Harrison Butker – $4,000

The Chiefs have not been very efficient in the red-zone this year converting only 52.94% of trips into touchdowns according to Teamrankings.com. It could be a very busy night for Harrison Butker if that continues as this team should have no problem moving the ball against this Colts defense.

Chiefs – $4,400

While this Chiefs defense allows a ton of points to all positions, they are not a terrible fantasy defense as they have reached double digits in 50% of their games. This front four can generate pressure and with opposing teams having to throw to keep up with the Chiefs offense, which gives this defense more scoring chances.

I am not suicidal, so I will not be having the Colts defense in my lineups. I will also be fading the goat as Indianapolis has converted 71.43% of trips in the red-zone to touchdowns while Vinatieri has struggled to make 4-of-7 field-goal attempts this year.

DraftKings Showdown: Game Script Thoughts

The bookmakers in the desert made a critical error as they opened the Chiefs as an 8.5 point favorite. That mistake was quickly rectified as they bumped it out to 11 within moments of their opening line as it got blasted by both professional and public money. The total opened at 54 and was quickly bet up to 56 where it has seen some resistance.

The Colts defense is missing some key pieces which should allow for this Chiefs offense to do what it wants all night long. I am expecting the Chiefs to jump out to an early lead while Brissett and this Colts offense play catchup all night long. I like a lot of offense here albeit mainly from the Chiefs in a drubbing of the Colts. Chiefs bettors beware though as the backdoor is always open with a double-digit spread. Take the over and don’t sweat it.
