Fantasy Football picks: Week 5 SNF Colts vs. Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes – Even priced at 17.5k Mahomes will be a very popular play, especially at the MVP spot. Pat leads the league in DYAR, at 623, 48.1% DVOA, second in QBR at 85.6, ten touchdowns, zero interceptions, and a 68.4% completion rate. He is basically a quarterback with a 99 rating in Madden, that plays in real-life football. The Colts give up the 13th most points to the quarterback position, with a 22.7% DVOA against the pass, which is 24th in the league.

This game will play at a very fast pace also, as both teams like to push the ball up the field very fast, and score at a high clip. Pat has thrown for no less than 300 yards in a game this season, and last game we finally saw him run the ball, with six attempts for 54 rushing yards. This is a spot where you will need as many Chiefs as you can afford, and Mahomes should be the centerpiece to your stack.

Jacoby Brissett – It makes a lot of sense to pair Mahomes, with Jacoby who is in an amazing spot for just 14.5k. He has ten touchdowns, two interceptions, and a 65.7% completion rate on the year. The Colts have really cut the leash on him in the past two weeks, with 37 passing attempts, and 46 most recently in week four. That has resulted in back-to-back 20 point performances. Kansas City gives up the eighth-most points to the quarterback position, which will really suit well for the entire Colts passing offense. Jacoby may also be playing catch-up today, which will boost his upside.
