Fantasy football picks: Week 5 MNF Browns vs. 49ers

Nick Chubb – On a rare occasion we have a player that is not a quarterback as the highest priced option on these single-game slates. That so happens to be Nick Chubb. He was most recently spotted putting up a career game against the Ravens. In that game, Chubb ran for 165 yards, and three scores on 20 attempts. His overall talent was never in question, but, his workload was a little bit sketchy, and he had not produced the type of results that so many people were expecting.

In week three he finally got past that 65% snap margin, playing a massive 99% of the offensive snaps, while playing 64% in the week four beatdown. That boosted his count to over 73% on the year, which is encouraging considering the slow start to the season. The miners have been amazing on defense, ranking 30th in fantasy points to opposing running backs, with the sixth-best DVOA against the rush. On a single-game slate, we have to take that with a grain of salt and look at playing the best overall players.

Odell Beckham Jr – OBJ has had his worst start to any season in his short professional career. It’s very odd considering he was supposed to have his best season once being traded to the Browns, and this high powered offense. Baker has been off as well, which has not helped Beckham. The targets are still present, which is an encouraging factor as they sit at 37 through four games. San Fransisco has been solid on defense, and most people may not want to target the likes of stud defender Richard Sherman, but I love this price on Beckham considering his upside.
