Fantasy Football Advice: First Look at NFL Week 6

Welcome back, FanSided Fantasy Fans (say that five times fast) to my first look at week 6 of the NFL schedule. Every Tuesday, I compile as many stats and helpful bits of info that I can and offer some fantasy football advice that hopefully helps you get your researched started.

Week 5 saw some ridiculous fantasy points being scored and lineups over 300 points taking down tournaments on Draftkings. Six players (Watson, McCaffrey, Amari Cooper, Aaron Jones, Will Fuller, and Michael Thomas) all scored 40 or more DK points this week in what was truly an incredible week for offense. A lot of these plays were very chalky so if you didn’t eat the chalk this week, or if you ate the wrong chalk, you were probably left in the cold even with what seemed like a lot of fantasy points.

The Patriots remained undefeated, moving to 5-0 with an easy win over the hapless Redskins who fired their coach the following day. And the 49ers crushed the Browns on Monday Night Football to remain the only undefeated team in the NFC at 4-0.

We have another game in London this week with the Panthers taking on the Bucs at 9:30 AM. So guess what? You can’t play Christian McCaffrey on the main slate!

"This article is going to be a Fantasy football advice “first look” at the coming week every Tuesday in which I attempt to give you a starting point for your research by providing some relevant statistics, pricing discrepancies across sites, and my own thoughts and insight on some of the players with the primary focus being on DFS."

We now have five weeks of data to draw from and we are finally starting to see how things are going to shake out with how teams will divide up touches amongst running backs, targets to wide receivers, etc…

My goal here is to give you some information to chew on for the next few days until the vast majority of NFL DFS content drops later in the week. I would highly encourage anyone who wants to improve their lineups and roster construction to do as much independent research as you can before you start reading articles filled with player picks to see if your research lines up with the experts. And just a reminder, don’t forget to read my GPP pivots column every Friday!
