2020 NFL mock draft: Jalen Hurts lands with Titans
By Brad Weiss
The Baltimore Ravens did what they had to do on Sunday, beating a short-handed Pittsburgh Steelers team to move their record to 3-2 on the season, and take the lead back in the AFC North. The Ravens have the talent on both sides of the ball to make a deep run in the playoffs this season, and you have to beat the lesser teams on your schedule if you want to clinch your spot.
Looking at the Ravens roster as a whole, there are some holes to be filled, and you could argue that they need more talent on the defensive side of the ball. In this draft class, Notre Dame’s Julian Okwara is an absolute beast, and someone who fits the mold of being another in a long line of stellar Ravens defensive players.
Okawara has the size, and speed to play on the edge at the next level, and possesses the kind of athletic ability that could net him double-digit sacks. All the good Ravens teams are built around a strong defense, and in Okwara, Baltimore would be getting one of the premier defensive talents in this draft class.
In one of the more shocking victories of the Week 5 slate, the Oakland Raiders took on the Chicago Bears in London, England, and actually came out on the winning end. Of course, it took a complete game on both sides of the ball, as the team blew a 17-0 lead, en-route to gutting out a 98-yard drive to win the game on Josh Jacobs’ second rushing touchdown.
For this Raiders team, who enters their bye week at 3-2, that was a monumental victory, as it is a young team looking to get better every week. All of a sudden, the Silver and Black look like players in the AFC Wild Card race, and will now have to navigate two more road games before heading home for the first time since Week 2.
In their Week 5 win, the team was without starting wideouts J.J. Nelson and Tyrell Williams, and adding talent at that position group has to be a priority in 2020. Tee Higgins from Clemson comes from that winning program that the Raiders plucked three draft picks from in 2019, as Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock continue to inject this franchise with guys with a championship pedigree.
