Daily fantasy golf: FanDuel PGA – Top value picks (Below $9,000)

Stewart Cink – $8,300 – (Cash)

Last week I messed around with Kurt Kitayama in cash games and paid the price, although it was not just him that sank the ship here on FanDuel. I am taking a less risky approach this week, but there are two viable cash plays this week in this price range in Doc Redman and the crafty veteran Stewart Cink.

Redman has played more than Cink this season, having played all four weeks and making three of four cuts, but he has just the one good finish of a T-24 back at the Greenbrier. Last week at the Shriners Open, Redman finished 12-under par, but that was only good for a T-42. Cink certainly was more down than up last season missing five cuts in a row at one point, but his history here at the Houston Open and his solid start to the season, coupled with the weak field, lead me to believe this price is just too low for the 46-year-old.

Cink made his season debut two weeks ago at the Sanderson Farms Championship. He got off to an average start with a round of 72 for even par but fired a 66 on Friday to get himself in the mix heading into the weekend. A 71 on Saturday followed by a 70 on Sunday led to a score of 9-under par, good for a T-28 finish to start the season.

Here at the Houston Open, Cink will return after skipping this event last year, having played in each of the six years prior. He only missed one cut in that span which was back in 2012, and he followed that with his best finish of a T-6 the following year. In his last action here in 2017, Cink finished 5-under par, good for a T-23 finish.
