DraftKings college football quarterback picks October 10

Top Tier:

I would venture to say that even if you haven’t heard of Caleb Evans, you’ll use him here. Why? Because you have heard of Tommy DeVito and Matt McKay. Evans isn’t a really prolific passer. His season high in yards is 286, which he tied in each of the last two games.

Evans’ true worth is in running the ball. Evans has 286 yards on the ground and five touchdowns to go with his ten passing scores. The fact is, Evans’ low mark on the season was 23.34 DraftKings points against a solid Iowa State defense. He is worth paying for on a slate without major stars.

Middle Tier:

Tommy DeVito is also a decent runner, but he doesn’t have nearly the impact on the run game that Evans does. However, North Carolina State has been fairly weak against the pass this year. The Wolfpack are allowing an average of 249.4 passing yards per game. We saw DeVito go for 330 at Maryland. He could come close to that mark here.

The official word out of Raleigh is that Bailey Hockman will start against the Orange. I don’t trust anything here though. McKay was benched against Florida State, and is probably third on the quarterback totem pole in Raleigh right now considering how good Devin Leary looked after Hockman was hurt against the Seminoles. Don’t trust any of this in cash, and even in GPP formats, it’s a huge risk without a big reward.

Bargain Shoppers:

The Bobcats have looked better since the switch to Gresch Jensen at quarterback, but he’s still a limited asset. That said, if you are looking to get in on the ground floor at quarterback, he’s safer than anything NC State has. Jensen isn’t going to lose you points. Considering Monroe is allowing an average of 250.6 passing yards per game, Jensen could wind up with a pretty good night.
