Fantasy football picks: Week 6 FanDuel GPP breakdown

Gardner Minshew – The man with the magic mustache gets a nice match-up with the Saints to kick off our main slate this weekend. He has been doing quite well since replacing Nick Foles, with nine scores, only one interception, but seven fumbles. Minshew ranks ninth in DYAR, eighth in DVOA, with a 66.7% completion rate.

This will actually be his softest defensive match-up so far, as the Saints are giving up the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. They rank 20th in the league with a 12.9% DVOA against the pass. That price tag on Gardner allows you to pay up at other positions. This is my favorite GPP quarterback on the slate.

Kyler Murray – The initial ownership numbers on Kyler are slightly lower than I believe he should be. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t get excited about him against Atlanta. We just witnessed a brutal massacre in that Houston game last week. That has now boosted Atlanta up to second in points allowed against quarterbacks.

They also rank 30th in DVOA against the pass at 40.1%. Arizona has a banged-up group of receivers, but they do still have a healthy Larry Fitzgerald. Another reason I like Murray is his rushing ability. It has been on full display, with rushing touchdowns in consecutive weeks. Regardless of his ownership, Kyler is an elite play.

Dak Prescott – After throwing for almost 500 yards last week, Dak and company get the New York Jets. Even with the Jets getting a few of their players back from injury, that defense is just not that good. Prescott also ranks second with a 507 DYAR, third in DVOA at 33.6%, first in QBR at 80.6, and has a 70% completion rate. All of which are massive improvements from the previous seasons. New York ranks in the middle of the pack in fantasy points yielded to quarterbacks, which is fine with me considering he just torched the Packers who have a good secondary.
