NBA Preseason DFS: Cavs @ Pistons

Cavs: Dylan Windler is OUT. John Henson and Ante Zizic are questionable.

Pistons: No injuries.

I’m not going to lie, I’m not all that interested in this game. The Pistons play super slow and have very few players other than Andre Drummond or Blake Griffin who are decent DFS options. Blake played 26 minutes on Wednesday but I would rather roster Drummond for his steals/blocks upside and more reliable rebounds.

Derrick Rose has looked great coming off the bench, averaging 14 points a game while playing 19 minutes a game. He’s going to get shots up with this second unit. The other guy off the bench for Detroit you want to consider is Luke Kennard. He buried 5 threes against Dallas on Wednesday and played 25 minutes, scoring 19 points. This Cavs team is likely going to be bad defensively with all of their young players, so I’m okay taking some shots on the cheap bench guards or rostering Drummond who can dominate Tristan Thompson inside.

As far as Cleveland goes, they haven’t played any NBA teams in the preseason yet and they frankly have too many young guards and wings for me to get excited about any of them. Kevin Love is the lone star left on this team and I don’t see any reason why they’d play him too many minutes tonight. Tristan Thompson and Larry Nance are solid plays with their rebounding upside and both guys are crafty scorers inside. Thompson got more minutes in their first game, but Larry Nance is the better fantasy player and could produce if he’s given the minutes.

Elite Plays: Derrick Rose, Andre Drummond

Secondary Plays: Larry Nance Jr., Tristan Thompson, Luke Kennard
