NBA Preseason DFS: Wizards @ Knicks

Wizards: Bradley Beal, C.J. Miles, questionable. Troy Brown, Isaiah Thomas, and Ian Mahinmi are OUT.

Knicks: Damyean Dotson, Kenny Wooten, and Amir Hinton are OUT. Dennis Smith Jr. is doubtful. Kevin Knox and Wayne Ellington are questionable, Bobby Portis is probable.

The Wizards rested Bradley Beal on Wednesday and played him only 15 minutes on Monday. Even if he plays tonight, I don’t expect them to push him in the preseason. He led the NBA in minutes played during the second half of last season and they are going to need him to have fresh legs as he’s going to have to carry this team all season long (or until they trade him?)

Thomas Bryant is the top play from the Wizards. He’s been solid upfront for Washington since halfway through last season and piled up 14 points and 14 rebounds against the Knicks on Monday. Mo Wagner played really well off the bench in that game, too, with 16 points and 4 rebounds. He attempted 14 shots and played the second-most minutes after Bryant.

The Knicks are still really banged up so there are definitely some guys who be thrust into more playing time tonight. It looks like Bobby Portis will make his preseason debut and that may put a damper on Mitchell Robinson and Julius Randle. But all three of them can probably coexist once the regular season comes and are all three are really good fantasy producers.

I was off R.J. Barrett on Monday and I felt pretty good about it as I watched him missing a ton of jumpers early, but the Knicks let him play 39 minutes and he ended up with a solid 17-6-3 line. If he’s going to see that kind of run, you simply can’t ignore him. I’ll like him more if we get news than Knox and/or Ellington end up being out, too.

Elite Plays: Thomas Bryant, Mitchell Robinson, Julius Randle

Secondary Plays: R.J. Barrett, Mo Wagner, Marcus Morris
