NFL DFS: Wide Receiver Pivots

Chalk: Cooper Kupp, DeAndre Hopkins, D.J. Chark, Julio Jones

Pivots: Tyler Boyd, Michael Thomas, Dede Westbrook

Julio and Hopkins were chalk that busted last week, but find themselves in good spots again this week. I’m probably not going there as I will continue to pay down at receiver most of the time. I like Chark a lot but I’m going to be getting more exposure to his teammate this week (more on that later) and Kupp looks like a good play this week again, and perhaps every week until we see him cool off.

My prediction for game script this week in the Bengals-Ravens game would be the Ravens getting the lead early and playing from ahead, which is one of the reasons I like Mark Ingram a good bit. And if I think the Bengals will be playing catch-up all game, then why not roster Tyler Boyd and hope that he goes nuts with a huge game.

He caught 10 of 14 targets against Arizona last week, and while the matchup against Baltimore isn’t nearly as good, we saw the Steelers exploit their pass defense over the middle of the field last week with a third-string quarterback feeding JuJu Smith-Schuster.  The Bengals don’t have that many options in the passing game and Boyd is the one receiver that Dalton trusts. I think we see him get double-digit targets again this week and pay off his mid-tier salary on catches and yard alone. If he happens to get in the end zone, too, he’s going to be an elite play.
