DFS fantasy football – Wide Receivers to Sit

Stefon Diggs (MIN) vs. PHI

I feel like this is becoming a recurring theme with Diggs this year. Despite not participating in team practice sessions last week and complaining about his usage in the offense, the Vikings didn’t seem to make any adjustments to get him more involved against the Giants last Sunday. Minnesota managed to reignite the chemistry between Kirk Cousins and Adam Thielen, as he caught seven passes for 130 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Diggs on the other hand, saw only four targets throughout the entirety of the game, against a secondary that has allowed the second-most receiving yards to receivers this year. I don’t have much confidence that Diggs’ role in the offensive game-script will change much this week as the Vikings host the Philadelphia Eagles.

Emmanuel Sanders (DEN) vs. TEN

Sanders was in line for a big performance last week as Chargers’ corner Casey Hayward was primarily going to cover fellow wideout Courtland Sutton. Hayward has historically had pretty good success against Sutton so Sanders was projected to step up. Unfortunately, Sanders flopped big time catching only one pass for nine yards. Despite Sutton’s recent struggles with Hayward, they still found ways to get him more involved. I would keep Sanders on the bench until he can show signs of life.

Corey Davis (TEN) @ DEN

In what is anticipated to be a low-scoring affair on Sunday, Corey Davis is another receiver I have on my “Do Not Start” list. Davis had so much potential when he entered the league a few years back, but has failed to become Tennessee’s top target in this time frame. Only once in 2019 has Davis cracked the top-10 in a single week for fantasy’s standards. The rest of the time, he’s found himself not even reaching the top-20. As bad as the Broncos’ defense as a whole has been this year, their secondary ranks third in preventing receivers from being successful through the air allowing on average 121.0 yards per game total. It’s sad to see Davis’ talents not blossoming at the professional level.
