DFS fantasy football  – Tight Ends to Sit

O.J. Howard (TB) vs. CAR

Howard has been a huge disappointment so far this year. Heading into the season, he was rated in the top-five among viable tight end options to choose from in fantasy. His large frame and ability to make plays is the perfect complement for Jameis Winston, or at least that’s what we all initially thought. Howard’s season has been abysmal as he has only managed 11 catches for 141 yards and no touchdowns in the first five games of the year. Despite what many of us believed prior to the start of the 2019 campaign, Howard’s role in the offense hasn’t improved at all. Winston has targeted Howard just 14 times all season which is 29th overall among tight ends. The Panthers are also a very stingy defense against tight ends as they have only managed to score 3.20 fantasy points per game (fourth-best).

Delanie Walker (TEN) @ DEN

Walker has significantly slowed down after getting off to a hot start to the 2019 season. Between Week’s 1-3, he was TE7 in full PPR formats gathering 16 catches for 158 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Since then in the last two weeks, Walker has caught only two passes for 14 yards and no scores. Denver’s defense has also been pretty stout towards preventing opposing tight ends in scoring fantasy points (5.20 tied for eleventh). While the Titans don’t have many other options in the passing game to speak of, Walker wouldn’t be a practical option to go to for this week considering his recent struggles on the field. Until he can produce at a respectable level as he did through the first three weeks of the season, I’m keeping Walker on the “Do Not Touch” list for the time being.
