NFL DFS bargain bin: Week 6 Quarterbacks

Kirk Cousins, MIN vs. PHI: (DraftKings-$5,200/FanDuel-$7,000/FantasyDraft-$10,200/Yahoo-$24)

It’s still kind of surprising to see Cousins at this price, but not altogether unexpected in light of his performances in certain games. However, as he demonstrated in Week 5 versus the Giants, the veteran signal-caller can still exploit a vulnerable secondary. The Eagles certainly qualify as such, as they’re still be missing both starting corners, Ronald Darby and Avonte Maddox, for Sunday’s game.

Philly also comes in having allowed 1,443 of the 1,524 air yards it’s seen to be completed, and they’ve yielded the sixth-most passing yards per game overall (271.2). Cousins is coming off his first 300-yard game of the campaign and has completed 75.0 and 81.4 percent of his passes over his last two contests, respectively. Despite some adversity this season, he undoubtedly has the ability to outperform his current discount prices, especially if this game turns into a back-and-forth tussle as expected.

Gardner Minshew, JAC vs. NO: (DraftKings-$5,000/FanDuel-$6,900/FantasyDraft-$10,800/Yahoo-$29)

The rookie quarterback has definitely made “Minshew Magic” a thing, even when it falls short. The Jaguars couldn’t quite pull off a tie in the closing seconds against the Panthers in Week 5, but Minshew’s never-say-die energy helped ensure it took a batted pass on an untimed down for Carolina to escape. The Washington State product sports a sparkling 9:1 TD:INT over his five games and has completed a solid 66.7 percent of his passes overall.

The Saints have had their share of struggles versus opposing passing attacks despite a reasonably good showing against Jameis Winston in Week 5. New Orleans is still allowing 24.5 DraftKings/FantasyDraft and 23.7 FanDuel/Yahoo fantasy points per game to QBs, along with 335.5 passing yards per away contest.

It’s also worth noting in Minshew’s case that the Saints have allowed the fifth-most rushing yards to quarterbacks (109) and most rushing touchdowns (four) to the position as well. In turn, Minshew already has 124 yards on the ground and is coming off a season-high seven carries versus the Panthers in Week 5.
