NFL DFS bargain bin: Week 6 Wide Receivers
Michael Gallup, DAL at NYJ: (DraftKings-$5,600/FanDuel-$6,100/FantasyDraft-$11,500/Yahoo-$21)
Gallup added “quick healer” to his growing list of appealing attributes in Week 5, when he made a triumphant return from a meniscus procedure in a loss to Green Bay. The second-year wideout recorded seven receptions for 113 yards and a touchdown versus the Packers, and he now walks into an exponentially better matchup versus the Jets’ porous secondary. New York checks into this Week 6 interconference battle having allowed 39.1 DraftKings/FantasyDraft and 30.8 FanDuel/Yahoo fantasy points per game to wide receivers.
Gallup has a pair of 100-yard efforts over his first three games and has seen his targets climb in each contest, despite Amari Cooper‘s heavy involvement on the other side. What’s more, he owns a solid 69.0 percent catch rate and is averaging an impressive 6.1 yards after the catch per reception, numbers that are helping him make good use of his early expanded opportunities. With Sam Darnold back at quarterback for the Jets, this also shapes up as a game that the Cowboys will likely need to remain much more aggressive in than if Luke Falk had still been under center.
D.J. Chark, JAC vs. NO: (DraftKings-$5,500/FanDuel-$6,500/FantasyDraft-$11,500/Yahoo-$22)
Chark has been one of the big reasons for Minshew’s success, as the second-year receiver is also enjoying his own breakout year. Following an eye-popping 8-164-2 line in Week 5 versus the Panthers, Chark now has a pair of 100-yard efforts and five touchdowns on the campaign. As mentioned earlier in Minshew’s entry, the Saints have allowed production through the air at an above-average amount, which naturally ups Chark’s prospects as well.
The Saints also come in allowing a robust 43.0 DraftKings/FantasyDraft and 34.6 FanDuel/Yahoo fantasy points per game to wide receivers, along with seven touchdowns, the sixth-most air yards (1,626) and the third-highest aDOT (9.7). In turn, Chark already has 10 catches of more than 20 yards, boasts an impressive aDOT of 14.8 yards and lays claim to an impressive 39.1 percent of his team’s air yards, making him a very nice fantasy fit with New Orleans’ weaknesses in those areas.
