Yahoo NFL – Daily fantasy football: Week six picks
Cooper Kupp ($28 salary)
Cooper Kupp is currently the WR3 in both fantasy points per game and total fantasy points. Kupp appears to have a tough matchup against a San Francisco 49ers defense allowing the 11th fewest fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. K’Wuan Williams has graded well at PFF, but digging into his numbers at Sports Info Solutions suggests he may be somewhat of a mirage. He has seen just eight targets in coverage and allowed five receptions (62.5 percent catch rate). His deserved catch rate of 100 percent suggests the incompletions came on plays where he was beat. Against Kupp, Williams will see more than his season total in targets against in coverage. The 49ers corner has allowed an exploitable 8.9 yards per target in coverage. Kupp has seen 15 and 17 targets over the last two weeks respectively. He has over 20 fantasy points in three straight contests and appears destined for another 100 yards a touchdown day with the expected negative game script. Kupp should be one of the chalkiest plays of the week due to his price tag and the fact Chris Godwin is not on the main slate.
D.K. Metcalf ($16 salary)
Metcalf is set to square off against an injury-ravaged Cleveland Browns defense surrendering the seventh-fewest fantasy points to enemy wideouts. Metcalf has a matchup advantage even if Greedy Williams gets cleared for this Sunday. Both are long with elite speed, but Metcalf is much too physical for the slender corner. With Greedy likely sidelined, Metcalf will line up against T.J. Carrie. The Browns corner has surrendered 14 completions off 21 targets, (66.7 percent completion percentage) at 7.1 yards per target. Though he already has two touchdowns and 60 yards receiving or a touchdown in four of his five contests, Metcalf has yet to truly have a breakout performance. If Cleveland can keep the game competitive, Week 6 could be when he truly arrives.
Courtland Sutton ($18 salary)
The WR14 in fantasy points per game and the WR9 in total fantasy points, Courtland Sutton is slated to do battle with a Tennessee Titans defense relinquishing the ninth fewest fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. With Sutton likely to draw Malcolm Butler, Joe Flacco will have an exploitable matchup to take advantage of. According to Sports Info Solutions, Butler has allowed nine yards per target and a 69 percent completion percentage on the season (both career-worst marks). He has already allowed two touchdowns in coverage and will have a tough time with the 6’4 contested-catch specialist.
