Yahoo NFL – Daily fantasy football: Week six picks

Austin Hooper ($25 salary)

The number two fantasy tight end, Austin Hooper has a date against an Arizona Cardinals defense allowing the most fantasy points to enemy tight ends. Conventional wisdom suggests that the Falcons may see reduced pass attempts in a contest they are favored in. While this may be true, Vegas has projected the contest to be more tightly contested than a non-bettor may believe. Arizona has surrendered 7.2 receptions, 92.2 receiving yards, and 1.2 touchdowns to the tight end position on the season. These numbers are much higher if we exclude the Cincinnati Bengals as they jump to eight receptions, 107.75 receiving yards, and 1.5 touchdowns. Austin Hooper has been on fire this season and leads the Atlanta Falcons in both receptions and receiving yards through five contests.

Preston Williams ($14 salary)

Preston Williams comes out of the Dolphins bye week to square off against a Washington defense surrendering the third-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. Preston Williams has yet to receive the number one receiver treatment, which means he will not have Josh Norman glued to him for the majority of his snaps. Instead, he will do battle with Quinton Dunbar, a cornerback that has allowed a career worst 7.9 yards per target in 2019. Williams has 19 targets in the two contests since Josh Rosen took over under center, a number that leads the team. A future number one receiver according to Pro Bowl corner and teammate Xavien Howard, the time may be now for Williams to finally have his breakout game. During Rosen’s brief time under center Williams has a 29 percent target share (tied for third), 197 air yards (15th), and a 0.72 weighted opportunity rating (third in league).

Los Angeles Chargers ($12 salary)

The Los Angeles Chargers D/ST appears to have an easy matchup this week despite facing off against a Pittsburgh Steelers offense allowing the ninth fewest fantasy points to opposing defensive/special teams units. The Steelers may be down to their third-string quarterback Devlin Hodges this weekend making the Chargers the D/ST to target for Week 6. Even if game manager Mason Rudolph is able to suit up, he will be forced to throw the ball which could lead to multiple sacks and turnovers. The Chargers have at least two sacks or two turnovers in every contest this season. They have recorded back to back double-digit fantasy outings and appear to be in a prime position to do so once again. The Chargers deserve a long, hard look for your lineups this weekend.
