NBA Preseason DFS: Monday, 10/14 – Have you seen the Joker yet?

NBA Preseason DFS: Thunder @ Mavericks
Oklahoma City Thunder
Chris Paul and Steven Adams are being rested for tonight’s game. Dennis Schroder sounds like he’s questionable after missing Saturday’s practice, but keep an eye on his situation because he becomes a really nice play with CP3 resting.
Gallinari should return to the lineup tonight after resting last night and immediately becomes a solid play. He is a really underrated player in DFS who can score in bunches, grab boards, and even surprise you with some blocks (he’s sneaky tall and athletic). The other elite play here is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. SGA is averaging 21 points per game through two preseason contests in only 24 minutes and without CP3 tonight he should have the ball in his hands a lot more against a suspect Dallas defense.
Nerlens Noel and Mike Muscala should absorb most of Steven Adams’ minutes, with Noel being the more attractive of the two (though I never really trust his minutes).
Elite Plays: Danilo Gallinari, Shai Gilgeous Alexander
Secondary Plays: Nerlens Noel, Dennis Schroder (if he plays)
Dallas Mavericks
Dwight Powell is out for the rest of the preseason, while guard Jalen Brunson and wing Dorian Finney-Smith are both out for tonight’s game. I have a feeling that people will be nervous to play Luka tonight in case Rick Carlisle pulls the rug out from under us and limits his minutes. But if we don’t get any indication that his minutes are limited, he’s a top play on the slate. In 25 minutes per game, he’s very cooly dropping 24-7-3 with 2 steals.
His new BFF Kristaps is also in consideration here, but I continue to temper my expectations a bit with him. He’s playing only 20 minutes a game so far and looked awesome in his first game, then not so great in his second one. Perhaps they increase his minutes, but I don’t see why they would jeopardize his health in a meaningless preseason game after he missed an entire season. Tim Hardaway Jr. is always in the discussion with his streaky shooting, but not a guy that I’m playing if I’m only making a few lineups.
Elite Plays: Luka Doncic
Secondary Plays: Kristaps Porzingis, Tim Hardaway Jr.
