Daily fantasy golf: FanDuel PGA – Top value picks (Below $9,000)

Ian Poulter – $8,800 – (Cash)

Plenty of options down here in the value range this week, and what we are really looking for in a field of just 78 with no-cut, are golfers who should top-20 at the very least, and cracking the top-ten is not out of the question. Ian Poulter is not my favorite option here, but I am thinking he may be the safest to crack that top-20 threshold despite his shaky recent form. The course is a perfect fit for the 43-year-old, and he has finishes of T-15 and T-10 here at the CJ Cup the last two years.

Poulter comes into this week off of a missed cut at the Italian Open, and I am hoping it was the end of a stretch that got progressively worse after his solo 8th place at the WGC FedEx St. Jude Invitational. Last time he missed a cut prior to last week, he actually bounced back with that 8th place finish.

Poulter would be a second option for me behind Pat Perez this week, but word surfaced Tuesday afternoon that Perez may withdraw. Simply because of that sole factor, I moved Poulter into this spot, but just know that I am going with Perez if he is indeed in this field. Perez T-5 in 2017 and T-7 here at the CJ Cup last season, and he comes into this week off of a solo third place at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in his last action.

Jazz Janewattananond – $8,100 – (GPP)

If the name sounds familiar, this 23-year-old from Thailand became a fan favorite in May at the PGA Championship, where he was in contention heading into Sunday. High winds led to an awful back nine on Sunday at Bethpage, and a final round 77 led to a T-14 finish for Janewattananond.

Back in late June, Jazz won the 62nd Korea Open on the Asian Tour, and he has been one of the better players bouncing between both the Asian Tour and the Japan Golf Tour. Despite not playing very much period on the European or PGA Tour in 2019, Jazz is the 58th ranked player in the world. He comes into this week off of back-to-back 4th place finishes at the Panasonic Open and the Top Cup Tokai Classic, both on the Japan Golf Tour. I am a big fan of Jazz so I may just have blinders on, but this price is just way too low.
