NBA Preseason DFS: Pistons @ Hornets

Pistons

Detroit played last night but rested Blake Griffin, Andre Drummond, and Markieff Morris which allowed both Thon Maker and preseason darling Christian Wood to have big games.  I am expecting them to continue to rest Blake Griffin tonight (although this has not been confirmed yet) but play Andre Drummond.

If that’s the case, then I’ll load up on Drummond in a good matchup against a Hornets team that is weak inside. Wood should be a popular play again tonight, but he makes for a tough fade considering how awesome he’s been with minutes. Just tread carefully there if Drummond and Markieff both play as Wood’s minutes could get chopped.

The rest of the Pistons guards and wings don’t excite me much. They are clearly watching Reggie Jackson‘s minutes and Luke Kennard is pretty scoring-dependent so if his shot isn’t falling he’s not a great play. We can be kind of picky tonight so I am going to limit my plays on each team a bit. Derrick Rose played well again last night but isn’t getting enough minutes to really go off even though he’s putting up points. He’s minimum price on FanDuel, though.

Top Plays: Andre Drummond, Christian Wood

Secondary Plays: Derrick Rose

Hornets

I like some of these young Hornets players tonight against this mediocre Pistons squad. Terry Rozier is a top play for me based on the fact he nearly posted a triple-double on Monday in 27 minutes. Reggie Jackson is a poor defender and Rozier could abuse him. Bridges, Washington, and Bacon all started Monday and played 29, 23, and 27 minutes, respectively.

Each of them has the ability to score the ball and stuff the stat sheet and they are all fairly priced on both sites. Devonte’ Graham is a top play off the bench and super cheap. He posted 18-7-5 in 24 minutes on Monday and continues to look like a solid young player who is taking the next step in his progression as a pro.

Top Plays: Terry Rozier, Devonte’ Graham

Secondary Plays: Miles Bridges, P.J. Washington, Dwayne Bacon
