Joe Namath Division

8. Philip Rivers (LW: 8)

Rivers and the Chargers are sinking quickly. The overall numbers for Rivers (1,785 yards, nine touchdowns and six interceptions) are solid, but the tape tells another story. Too many major turnovers, too many sacks (blame the offensive line) and now, perhaps, too little time.

7. Matthew Stafford (LW: 9)

Stafford has returned to his aggressive ways, pushing the ball down the field. The result has Detroit playing like a playoff contender, even if it got jobbed by the officials on Monday night. Stafford has nine touchdown launches through five games, and looks to be having his best year in some time.

6. Aaron Rodgers (LW: 5)

Rodgers is the exact opposite of Philip Rivers. The numbers are nothing special (1,590 yards with eight touchdowns and two picks) but he has done a great job of playing complimentary football while still making the big play. No reason to be down on the future first-ballot Hall of Famer.

5. Matt Ryan (LW: 7)

Ryan is being forgotten about because the Falcons are an absolute tire fire, but he’s playing terrific football. Despite a leaky offensive line and no defensive help, Ryan has thrown for 2,011 yards and 15 touchdowns. It’s been fantastic, even if his team is anything but.
